Coursework
I have taken coursework in quantitative methods and statistics during my entire tenure as an undergraduate and graduate student, having received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Binghamton in 2004, a M.A. in Sociology from the University of Miami in 2006, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Connecticut in 2009. I also earned a Certificate in Quantitative Methods from the Department of Psychology of the University of Connecticut in August 2008.
Research and Employment
I have worked in several research positions during my time in graduate school. I was a research assistant at the Institute for Community Research in Hartford, Connecticut where I performed a wide variety of statistical analyses on public health-related data. I was also a research assistant at the North American Jewish Data Bank at the University of Connecticut where I conducted analyses on data relating to the American Jewish population. I am also publishing a book on statistics with SAGE publications which is scheduled for publication in March 2010. I have also previously worked as a statistics tutor.
Statistical Consulting
More recently, I have worked as a statistical consultant, and have had as clients individuals in the fields of psychology, sociology, marketing, and management. I have utilized, among other methods, t-tests, ANOVAs, ANCOVAs, regression, and factor analysis.
